Item description: 1972, 1st Alec Holland Version of Swamp Thing; Bernie Wrightson Cover and Art |
Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson's Swamp Thing is one of the Bronze Age's foremost artistic achievements and this premiere issue is probably more popular with collectors than ever before. After introducing the concept of Swamp Thing as a one-shot story in House of Secrets #92, which featured an early 20th century tale of a man name Alex Olsen who is turned into the Swamp Thing, this important issue introduced the modern version of Swamp Thing, Alec Holland. This is the character who has starred in over 45 years worth of stories, many of which are among the best ever told in the comic book medium, including the legendary Alan Moore run in the 1980s. The offered example has been graded Near Mint 9.2 by CGC with supple, Off-White page quality.
